J. Sterling Morton
J. Sterling Morton
J. Sterling Morton jumped into the political scene soon after their arrival in the Nebraska Territory.

J. Sterling Morton was appointed Nebraska's territorial Secretary of State from 1858-1861 and was also the acting territorial governor from 1858-1859.

Morton lived in Nebraska City and carefully watched the evolution of the Nebraska Territory through its ups and downs. Morton did not believe Nebraska was the “Great American Desert”, but quite the opposite. He believed in agriculture and the honorable work of farmers.

Moving Pictures
Moving Pictures
Animated series of photobooth strips and/or multiple photobooth images of the same person. A jittery, flickering, Frankensteinian attempt to bring old photos back to life. A couple of the series- the first and last- have over 30 images so they'll take a little time to load but they're worth the wait!

Bayeux Tapestry
Bayeux Tapestry
The Bayeux Tapestry is a 20 in by 230 ft long embroidered cloth—not an actual tapestry—which explains the events leading up to the Norman Conquest of England as well as the events of the invasion itself. The Tapestry is annotated in Latin. It is presently exhibited in a special museum in Bayeux, Normandy, France.

Phyllotactic defect in corn kernels
Phyllotactic defect in corn kernels
Kernels on a cob of corn, showing an interesting phyllotactic defect where regular columns of kernels suddenly make a checkerboard pattern and then revert to columns again.
In botany, phyllotaxis or phyllotaxy is the arrangement of the leaves on the stem of a plant.
