Oktoberfest Volunteer Job Descriptions
- Ceiling Streamers Decorations ( Jonathan Carleton, Jill Stevens, Amy Barlow Kathi Oliver & Chris Oliver -- plus three more people)

- Table & Chair Setup (Chris Oliver, Kathi Oliver & Jill Stevens)

- Set Tableware (Amy Barlow & Kathi Oliver)
Tablecloths, napkins, cutlery, plates, & water glasses
Also setup chaffing dish on serving table.
2:30 p.m.
- Setup Bar (Geoff Chenoweth & someone to help setup )
Setup bar glassware
Setup ice bins
Assist with receiving and serving donated wine and beer
Clean up bar area after the event
- Cooks
(Sunday afternoon)
- Salad Cooks (Nathan & Nellie Chenoweth & two more people)
There are eight salads to prepare Sunday afternoon starting at 2:00 p.m. This includes prep cutting fruits and vegetables and mixing each salad per recipe. This also includes setup up the salads on the serving table between 6:15 & 6:30, and clearing the serving between the salad and main course.) See link for recipes.
- Cook I (Ben Wallace)
Chicken Griller: starting at 5:30, setup outdoor grill. After the salad course, (around) 6:50 start grilling chicken, then bring to serving table in chafing dish. The chicken will be marinated beforehand by Nathan.
- Cook II (Need one person)
Meat Roaster: starting at 5:45 (1hr 30 mins)

The pork will be brined beforehand by Nathan.
- Cook III (Barb Herring)
Setup Main Course Serving Table with needed equipment before event
Reheating sauerkraut, spätel and gravy. (This will be prepared beforehand by Nathan and will just need to be heated)
Transfer to chaffing trays just after salads
Assist with any needs at the serving table
Clear Main Course Serving Table after dessert
- Water Server (Need one person or a couple)
ice and fill all water glasses on table before 6:00 p.m
set water carafes (interspersed on table)
insure that water carafes are full through the evening.
- Coffee (Need one person)
make coffee so it's ready by dessert time
Setup coffee mugs, cream, sugar and spoons.
clean up coffee things after
event
- Clear and Clean
- Clear Plates (Liz & Adam Sagert)
Remove Salad plates, dinner plates and dessert plates after each course.
Clear tables at the end of the event.
Salad and dinner plates are scraped clean and stacked in their buckets unwashed.
Silverware goes in a gray tub with water and soap
Glassware is taken to the north sink washing area
This does not include washing.
- General Kitchen Clean up Coordinator (Royal Bush)
- Glassware washing (Amy Barlow & Nadine Keith)
Wash, dry and return to boxes
Use North sink only
- Service Ware Washing (Need two people)
Wash cutlery, dessert plates and service ware
(Salads and dinner plates are returned to their buckets unwashed.)
- Clean up Tables & Chairs (Need two people)
Return room back to standard setup
sweep and mop if necessary
- Clean up Décor (Jonathan Carleton & one other person)
table cloths go in one plastic bag and taken to NK's pickup
napkins go in one plastic bag and taken to NK's pickup
streamers go in one plastic bag for recycling
wire is removed from ceiling eye bolts
- Saturday Tasks:
- Cake Bakers (Abby Cape - Spice Cake) (Kate Godfrey - Chocolate Torte)
Provide & bake a 11-inch single layer cake (German style torte)

- Pre-Cooks (Nathan Kramer)
Make spätel, sauerkraut and bread
- Haulers & Movers (Need two people)
Assist Nathan with hauling equipment before and after event.

Check people in
Receive reservation fees for those still needed to pay
Monitor free will offering jar and secure it during the dinner
Invite people to reserve a place at the table with place cards
Invite people to the bar and tidbits
- Photographer (Scott Kemper)
Take pictures (small groups and couples posed and candid shots)
Request permission for Church use and/or Social Media
Select photographs and send to guests after event.
- Evaluator (Kathi Oliver)
Prepare and implement an evaluation scheme
Be available to accept miscellaneous evaluation elements -- Comment Box
Prepare an Event Report to be used for future events
- Auditor (Jaime Alexander)
Conduct a full accounting of all money issues concerning this event
Add financial report to Event Report
