Marching to Pretoria
The song "Marching to Pretoria" refers to the city located in the northern part of Gauteng Province, South Africa. The Beatles song, I Am the Walrus, opening line, "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together" is based on the song "Marching To Pretoria," which contains the lyric, "I'm with you and you're with me and we are all together." The song "Pretoria" is the same song Lord-Baden Powell would sing with his troops as they marched from place to place during the Boer Wars in Africa in the 1800's/early 1900's.

Marching to Pretoria

Sing with me, I'll sing with you
And so we will sing together
So we will sing together
So we will sing together
Sing with me, I'll sing with you
And so we will sing together
As we march along

Chorus:
Oh, we are marching to Pretoria,
Pretoria, Pretoria,
Oh, we are marching to Pretoria,
Pretoria, Hooray.

Dance with me, I'll dance with you
And so we will dance together
So we will dance together
So we will dance together
Dance with me, I'll dance with you
And so we will dance together
As we march along

Chorus:
Oh, we are marching to Pretoria,
Pretoria, Pretoria,
Oh, we are marching to Pretoria,
Pretoria, Hooray.

March with me, I'll march with you
And so we will march together
So we will march together
So we will march together
March with me, I'll march with you
And so we will march together
As we march along

Chorus:
Oh, we are marching to Pretoria,
Pretoria, Pretoria,
Oh, we are marching to Pretoria,
Pretoria, Hooray.

Drink with me, I'll drink with you
And so we will drink together
So we will drink together
So we will drink together
Sing with me, I'll drink with you
And so we will drink together
As we march along

Chorus:
Oh, we are marching to Pretoria,
Pretoria, Pretoria,
Oh, we are marching to Pretoria,
Pretoria, Hooray.

(Repeat chorus)
