Collecting is far more than a mere hobby; it is a foundational process that establishes context, timeline, and a deeper understanding of our shared culture. From childhood curiosities to a lifelong passion for original art, our journey as collectors has been guided by the belief that works touched by the hand of the maker offer a profound personal connection that mass-produced items cannot replicate. While our collection of Jack Coughlin’s work grew through a mix of careful study and serendipitous availability, it has taught us that art which challenges the viewer is often as vital as art that comforts. By moving beyond the static history of the Great Masters to engage with a living artist, we have found "the water that primes the pump" to vast oceans of beauty and insight. This catalog serves as a formal record of that thirty-year journey—a testament to the fact that in this time and place, these works were gathered, studied, and deeply loved. --Nathan Krämer
