Cherry Bing Bars

2 cups sugar
2/3 cup evaporated milk
12 large marshmallows
1/2 cup butter
9-10 ounce bag cherry chips
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
12 ounce bag chocolate chips
3/4 cup chunky-style peanut butter
3 cups crushed peanuts

Combine sugar, milk, salt, butter and marshmallows in a pan on medium heat.  Carefully (as this scorches easily) boil 5 minutes and remove.  Add cherry chips and vanilla.  Put in buttered 9x13-inch pan.  melt chocolate chips in a double boiler and add peanut butter and peanuts.  Spread over cherry mixture and chill.
