Sweet & Salty Spiced Walnuts
These addictive nuts take minutes to prepare-- and they'll dissappear in minutes, too. They are pefect for snacking or as an elegant accompaniment to cocktails. Try toping slices of bagettes with brie cheese, melting them in the oven and serving them with these Walnuts and Scotch & Water.

1 3/4 cups Walnut halves
1 tablespoon mild vegetable oil
1 teablsoon sugar
1/8 teasoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne (or chipotle) pepper

Preheat the oven to 325° F.

In a small bowl, stir together the walnuts and oil, then add the sugar, salt and pepper, mixing well.

On a jellyroll pan lined with parchment paper (or nonstick spray), spread the walnuts on the pan and bake until crisp, about 15 minutes, stirring halfway through. Cool to room tempetature. Store in an airtight container.
