Boston Store
Better known today as Brandeis, The Boston Store, was first known as The Fair Store, opened in 1881 by Jonas L. Brandeis. Success demanded several relocations, until 1906, when the flagship Brandeis building was constructed on Douglas between 16th and 17th Streets. To reach more customers, the enterprising Mr. Brandeis had wagons filled with the store’s clearly priced merchandise rumble through the streets of Omaha.
